Old Trafford side look to sell star to fund World Cup winner bid.

Man United chief executive Ed Woodward has met with his PSG counterpart Olivier Letang as the two sides look to thrash out a deal that would see Angel di Maria leave Old Trafford for the French capital according to the Daily Star.

The 27-year-old Argentine international didn’t come close to justifying his £59.7m price-tag last season and has apparently wants to leave Man United after just one year (via the Independent).

The Daily Star claim that PSG have offered £40m for the former Real Madrid man but Man United want to secure £60m from his sale.

Di Maria netted three goals in his first five Premier League appearances for Man United but then failed to net another for the rest of the campaign, leading to Louis van Gaal to leave the winger on the bench for some fixtures towards the end of the season.

Louis van Gaal will look to use funds from the sale of Angel di Maria to help in his pursuit of Bayern Munich forward Thomas Muller with the Daily Star stating that a £50m offer for the Allianz Arena star had failed and that a £60m bid was being considered.

Louis van Gaal knows Muller well from his time in charge of Man United, the Dutch manager showing the German international a great deal of faith in the early stages of the lanky forward’s career, and has already conducted one Bayern Munich raid this summer after he pulled off the capture of Bastian Schweinsteiger earlier this month.
