Emirates Stadium first-team regular linked with move to Italian capital.

Arsenal keeper Wojciech Szczesny is in talks to sign for Serie A side AS Roma on an initial loan deal according to talkSPORT.

The 25-year-old started 2014/15 as Arsene Wenger’s first choice goalkeeper but a run of uncertain form, culminating in a error strewn display against Southampton on New Year’s Day, led to Colombian David Ospin taking over between the sticks.

Arsenal have since completed the signing of Chelsea custodian Petr Cech and this will leave three international keepers fighting for a starting spot at the Emirates Stadium.

Polish international Wojciech Szczesny moved to Arsenal in 2006 and the goalkeeper has become a firm fan favourite over the course of his six seasons in the Gunners first team set-up.

Szczesny looked shaky when he initially broke into the Wenger’s starting eleven but has matured into a very capable stopper and has made a total of 181 appearances for the north London side.

talkSPORT claim that the Arsenal star is in talks to sign for Stadio Olimpico side AS Roma, with a season long loan deal potentially leading to a permanent move to the Italian capital.
