Arsenal and Liverpool given clarity on transfer target’s future as president discusses departures (Video)

Olympique Lyonnais president Jean-Michel Aulas has indicated that the club will not be selling any of their key players, amid transfer rumours linking Alexandre Lacazette with a move to the Premier League.

The French international has been linked with a move to several English heavyweights this summer, with the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool [ESPN] understood to be keen on a move for the forward.

Both sides may yet face competition from Chelsea; Jose Mourinho is understood t0 be an admirer of the player, and has been rumoured to be considering a bid to bring the attacker to Stamford Bridge [Express].

ESPN also note that Paris Saint-Germain are keen on snaring the forward from their transfer rivals.

However, speaking to France Football [via Le 10 Sport], Aulas has indicated that OL will not be selling any of their key players this summer, seemingly bringing the curtain down on a departure for Lacazette.

“We have not let and will not let leave any player who participated in a positive way to last season’s adventure,” the president affirmed.

Lacazette, who scored 27 goals and contributed six assists in 33 Ligue 1 appearances last term, was one of OL’s most impressive players. As such, he—along with another Arsenal target, Nabil Fekir [Daily Mail]—would appear to be exactly the kind of player that Aulas is confirming will not be set for an exit this summer.

The news may well prompt the Frenchman’s suitors to look elsewhere, with Liverpool still to truly replace the goals lost when Luis Suarez swapped Anfield for Barcelona last summer.
