The 24-year-old has found himself unwanted at Anfield after disappointing last season. He scored just once in 15 games for the Reds, and is seemingly now behind Daniel Sturridge, Mario Balotelli, Danny Ings, Divock Origi, and Rickie Lambert in the pecking order. Moreover, with Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke being linked with a move to Anfield [BBC], he could slip even further down in the near future.
With so many forwards at the club it is important that manager Brendan Rodgers gets rid of some of them as it will be nigh on impossible to keep them all happy if they stay. This could expedite any move.
However, Moyes is still keen on bringing the forward to Spain, where he is preparing for his first full campaign in charge of Sociedad. The Basque outfit scored just 44 goals in La Liga last time round, and will have to improve on that if they are to get back to the heights of 2013/14, when they were competing in the Champions League.
