Man United linked with stunning move to sign £85m strike-pair

Old Trafford side look to bring in two world-class forwards.

Man United boss Louis van Gaal may have signed four top-quality summer additions but it appears the Dutchman isn’t finished with his transfer spending.

Goal.com reports that Bayern Munich forward Robert Lewandowski is a known target with the Polish international’s agent openly discussing the Premier League side’s interest in his client.

When asked about a possible bid from Man United for the 26-year-old Allianz Arena star, agent Cezary Kucharski, told Polish television:

“I think it would have to be a very high offer, definitely higher than €50million (£35m).

“Robert is one of the most valued strikers on the market who guarantees goals, guarantees assists, excitement. He has shown that over many years during his career.

“Every year he is an even better player and plays at a higher level and that is very important for other clubs because he has credibility and guarantees at least 30 goals a season.”

Lewandowski moved to Bayern Munich last summer and bagged 25 goals in his debut campaign.

Man United rated PSG goaen on £50m rated PSG goal-machine Edinson Cavani according to the Daily Express.

The 28-year-old has managed to net 56 goals in two season in the French capital, this despite having to play predominantly in a wide-attacking role so as to accommodate Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Louis van Gaal may well be looking to bring in at least two strikers given how few options he now has in the final third.

The Man United manager opted against making the club’s loan move for Radamel Falcao a permanent one and will sell Robin van Persie to Fenerbahce.

Javier Hernandez is also likely to leave which would mean Man United would be down to the bare bones in terms of proven striking talent with only Wayne Rooney remaining a viable option, and this being less of an option given the fact that van Gaal likes to use the England man in a withdrawn role.
