The forward has signed a five-year deal with the Galician side, and will look to finally establish himself at a club after failing to make the grade at the Etihad Stadium.
The 23-year-old had been eyed by Olympique de Marseille, with Marcelo Bielsa reportedly an admirer of the forward, according to Le 10 Sport.
However, having already missed out on Claudio Beauvue and Idrissa Gueye, the legendary Argentine coach had to watch as the Swedish international opted to move to Spain.
Guidetti, who could have played for Italy, Brazil and Kenya, as well as Sweden, moved to City in 2008 after time with IF Brommapojkarna.
He never managed a senior league appearance with the Citizens, and was sent out on five loan deals since moving to the club seven years ago.
The forward featured for the likes of Burnley and Stoke City, and also scored 20 goals in 23 league games for Feyenoord.
He spent last season on loan at Celtic, winning the Scottish title and the league cup. However, he has clearly not done enough to earn the faith of Manuel Pellegrini and the opportunity of a chance in the City first team.
The attacker won the Bronze Boot at the U21 European Championships earlier this year, although it remains to be seen whether his impressive performances at youth level can translate to the senior arena.
