In attendance at the club’s Melwood training ground on Monday was several of their new signings including highly-rated youngster Joe Gomez and England international Nathaniel Clyne, while Divock Origi trained with the squad for the first time since completing his move last summer.
Roberto Firmino is likely to join up with his new teammates in about a week or so following his international exploits with Brazil at this summer’s Copa America tournament.

The most high-profile of all was unsettled winger Raheem Sterling, who has been the subject of two rejected bids from Manchester City [via BBC Sport], but it appears his future lies away from Merseyside as a third offer from City is expected by his current club in the near future [via ESPN Sport].
Meanwhile Rickie Lambert and Fabio Borini, who managed three league goals between them last season, were also back in training despite being linked with moves to West Brom [via Guardian Sport] and Serie A outfit Lazio [via Football Italia] respectively.

Liverpool’s start to the new campaign begins on August 9 with a tough trip to the Britannia Stadium in a repeat of the final day fixture from last year and they will be hoping to avoid another 6-1 thrashing at the hands of Stoke City.
Newly-promoted AFC Bournemouth are the first visitors to Anfield a week later, before the Reds face a daunting trip to the Emirates Stadium against last season’s FA Cup winners Arsenal.
