Juventus’ STAR-STUDDED new XI for 2015/16: Pogba replaced by Liverpool target & Chelsea star in attack
The Etihad Stadium side are certainly no strangers to forking out massive sums for new additions and having meekly surrendered their Premier League title to Chelsea in 2014/15 it seems the club’s mega-rich owners are looking to issue a real statement of intent this summer.
The Daily Star claims that Man City will sign Raheem Sterling, having failed with two earlier bids for the 20-year-old [via Daily Mail], and that the England international will be the first of many big-name players set to join the club.
Sterling impressed in 2014/15, one of the few Liverpool players to come out of the disastrous campaign with any credit, contributing seven goals and seven assists in the Premier League.
Paul Pogba (Juventus)
The Daily Star state that Man City are in pole position to bring in the 22-year-old French international, who last season played a pivotal role in Juventus’ domestic double-winning triumph.
Pogba left City’s local rivals Man United in 2012 to join Juventus and a move to the Etihad Stadium would certainly be a contentious one.
Kevin de Bruyne (Wolfsburg)
Chelsea handed de Bruyne just two Premier League starts before selling the wide-man to Wolfsburg and the cultured 23-year-old hasn’t looked back.
De Bruyne finished last season as the Bundesliga’s leading assist-maker and City have set their sights on the £58m-rated Belgian.
