Everton transfer gossip
Losing any of their star performers would be a major blow to the Toffees, and they are known for getting very good prices for their prize assets. However, here are five squad members manager Roberto Martinez may have to do without next season…
5) Seamus Coleman
Sky Sports have reported that Manchester United are interested in the right-back.
However, the Liverpool Echo have revealed that the Merseyside club aren’t interested in selling the defender, so it could be difficult to prise him away from Goodison Park.
4) John Stones
The 21-year-old has been targeted by both Chelsea and Manchester City according to the Daily Mail. After proving last season that he is one of the best young defenders in Europe, the England international would be a great signing if anyone managed to pull it off.
3) James McCarthy
Tottenham are keen on the midfielder [Liverpool Echo], and he is apparently unhappy at the lack of a contract offer from the Goodison Park hierarchy.
After being one of their best players over the last two campaigns it will still be very difficult to negotiate a sale.
2) Romelu Lukaku
The Metro believe that the former Chelsea man is a target for Louis van Gaal and the Red Devils. The Blues are likely to want a major fee for the 22-year-old though, after paying £28 million for him last summer.
1) Ross Barkley
Probably the most talented player in Roberto Martinez’s squad, but is yet to hit the heights that many expect. Even so Manchester City and Chelsea have shown an interest, according to the Daily Mirror, as they look to improve the number of home grown players in their squads.
