With Real Madrid centre-back Sergio Ramos being so strongly linked with a summer move to Manchester United, here’s a look at five defensive signings the Spanish giants could make to replace him, including two potential raids on the Premier League…
1) Nicolas Otamendi (Valencia)
Wanted by Manchester United, Valencia defender Nicolas Otamendi has also been linked with Real Madrid after a superb season in La Liga, showing he could be the ideal player to take Ramos’ place at the Bernabeu.

2) Laurent Koscielny (Arsenal)
One of the best defenders in Europe on his day, Laurent Koscielny has had another fine season for Arsenal and has emerged as another possible defensive target for Real Madrid.

One of the best young defenders in the world right now, Athletic Bilbao starlet Aymeric Laporte has been strongly linked with the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United in recent times, but his fine form has also seen him come onto Real’s radar this summer.
