The 24-year-old spent last season on loan at Stoke City where his spell was disrupted by a couple of long-term injuries, which restricted him to just 19 league starts.
He was able to score three times and register the same number of assists, but his season was cut short prematurely after picking up a hamstring injury in the 1-1 draw against West Ham United back in April.
Reports surfaced earlier in the week [via Mirror Sport] that Stoke would demand the Nigerian international as part of any deal that would take goalkeeper Asmir Begovic to Stamford Bridge this summer as the Blues seek a replacement for Petr Cech, who looks to be Arsenal-bound.
However, according to Star Sport it looks unlikely that Moses will rejoin the Potters on a permanent basis ahead of the new season as it’s understood that he would like to play in Europe.
This seems to have put Spurs in the driving seat with manager Mauricio Pochettino desperate to bolster his attacking options ahead of the new campaign, following below-par displays from big names like Emmanuel Adebayor, Roberto Soldado, Erik Lamela, Aaron Lennon and Andros Townsend throughout the 2014/15 season, leaving the north Londoners short of the quality needed to break into the top four and achieve the Champions League football they so badly crave.
The former Southampton boss is clearly after a winger this summer and has also been linked with moves for Yevhen Konoplyanka [via Metro Sport] and Kevin Mirallas [via Mirror Sport], who would offer similar pace, creativity and goals from the flanks and who look like similarly realistic and affordable targets for the club.
