A look at the top ten salaries of players in the Premier League, updated with Liverpool’s new signing featuring ahead of two of Arsenal’s highest earners…

10) Alexis Sanchez – £130k

Surprisingly not the highest earner at Arsenal, Alexis Sanchez comes in 10th place here with a sizeable pay packet of £130,000 per week.

9) Mesut Ozil – £140k

Just above Sanchez on Arsenal’s wage bill is Mesut Ozil, who is also the Gunners’ most expensive signing of all time.

8) James Milner – £150k

Surely the most overpaid player on this list, Liverpool’s new signing James Milner comes in an incredible 8th place in the salary rankings after his big move from Manchester City.

7) Sergio Aguero – £175k

Narrowly ahead of his old team mate is current City hot-shot Sergio Aguero, who finished as top scorer in the Premier League for 2014/15.

6) Yaya Toure – £185k

Another big name at City, Yaya Toure is the club’s highest earner and comes in sixth place in the Premier League rankings overall.

5) Eden Hazard – £200k

One of the best players in the world, it’s fair to say Chelsea star Eden Hazard has earned his status as one of the best paid in England.

4) Cesc Fabregas – £200k

Also on £200k at Chelsea, last summer’s signing Cesc Fabregas is on big money at Stamford Bridge and is well worth the money with his fine midfield displays.

3) Angel Di Maria – £220k

A player still to truly justify the money spent on him, Angel Di Maria is Manchester United’s most expensive player ever, and comes in third overall with £220,000 per week wages.

2) Robin van Persie – £250k

A player well past his best, but it’s not surprising to see Robin van Persie made one of the highest earners when he moved from Arsenal to Manchester United back in 2012.

1) Wayne Rooney – £300k

A world class performer, Wayne Rooney is by some distance the most well paid player in the Premier League, and has consistently been one of the best in the country.
