Best wingers in the world – Hazard & Bale in our top 20!
A look at ten big-name players around the world who could quite feasibly become the first to command a £100m transfer fee at some point in their careers…
1) Paul Pogba (Juventus)
A player already set to move for a huge amount this summer, Juventus’ Paul Pogba has been linked with a move for a fee somewhere in the region of £60-70m, and would surely cost close to £100m if he were to move again in the future.
2) Gareth Bale (Real Madrid)
Linked previously with a £100m move to Manchester United, there’s no way Real Madrid would let world-record signing Gareth Bale leave for less than the £85m they paid for him.
3) Eden Hazard (Chelsea)
Having recently signed a new contract with Chelsea, Eden Hazard is another potentially great player who could go down in history either for his great performances and maybe even for moving for a big fee, with the Blues not known for being a selling club, though Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain have shown an interest in the Belgian.
4) Raheem Sterling (Liverpool)
If Raheem Sterling could move for £50m this summer, then imagine what he’ll be worth in a few years’ time if he keeps performing, with the Liverpool starlet undoubtedly one of the world’s best young players.
5) James Rodriguez (Real Madrid)
A player who has already commanded a fee in the region of £60m, it’s easy to imagine James Rodriguez could leave Real Madrid in the future for huge money, as the likes of Mesut Ozil and Angel Di Maria have.
6) Sergio Aguero (Manchester City)
A player Manchester City will surely not be under huge pressure to sell, it could be that Sergio Aguero would command a world-record fee if he ever moves to long-time admirers Real Madrid.
7) Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid)
Once the most expensive player of all time when he joined Real Madrid for £80m, former Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo could still end up costing £100m if he moves soon, even at the age of 30.
8) Alexis Sanchez (Arsenal)
A world class talent who was a steal for Arsenal, Alexis Sanchez could definitely become one of the best in the world, and it’s not inconceivable that the Gunners would refuse a sale unless a mammoth bid came in.
9) Neymar (Barcelona)
It is not entirely clear how much Neymar cost Barcelona in the end, but it is fairly obvious it was a lot, and if the Brazilian forward ever left the Nou Camp he’s one who could be valued at around £100m or even more.
10) Lionel Messi (Barcelona)
He may be approaching 30, but there’s no way Lionel Messi would ever leave for any normal amount, with the Barcelona legend once linked with a £200m move to various Premier League clubs.
