A formation that worked very well for Liverpool for so much of last season, 3-4-3 could be the answer for the Reds again here. Ings probably isn’t good enough to start regularly, so Sturridge will be the main man up front, supported by Firmino and Coutinho in more suitable free roles in attack. Clyne and Moreno will again provide the width in wing-back roles, which should suit them perfectly given their style of play, while Can, Sakho and Skrtel line up together in a decent-looking back three. This lineup would also seemingly make it the simplest way to rotate players like Adam Lallana and Lazar Markovic when needed.
