Colombian strongly linked with an Emirates Stadium switch.

The 28-year-old Colombian had been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium earlier in the summer (Via Daily Star) but the Independent points out that Martinez had been very close to joining AC Milan.
That deal has stuttered with the San Siro side shifting their attention to PSG’s Edinson Cavani.
“[Arsenal]’s a big club in one of the best leagues in the world,” said Martinez. “We have to see if an offer will become a reality or not.
“The day we’ll know where my future goes is near. I still haven’t decided, as I’m focused on the Copa America right now.”
Martinez’s involvement in the Copa America came to a grinding halt on Sunday when Colombia failed to overcome Peru and therefore were knocked out of the competition at the group stage.
The £25m-rated forward (Via Daily Telegraph) has proven a massive success since moving to Portugal in July 2012, netting 92 goals in three seasons, but having seen his FC Porto side surrender their Primeira Liga crown to arch rivals Benfica for a second successive campaign it appears a move away from the Estádio do Dragão has become a possibility.
Olivier Giroud is currently Arsene Wenger’s first-choice central striking option and though the French forward impressed in patches in 2014/15 his tally of 14 Premier League goals is far below top strikers at other sides in or around the top six.
Martinez has the physical attributes to succeed in the rough and tumble confines of the Premier League and there will surely be no shortage of interested parties if the South American does indeed leave FC Porto this summer.
