Tottenham Hotspur remain adamant that striker Harry Kane will not be sold in this summer’s transfer window, amid reports suggesting that Manchester United are readying a £40m bid for his signature.

ESPN claim that they have been informed by reliable sources that Spurs will not entertain any offers – no matter how sizeable – for their prized asset.
Only in February, the England international signed a new five-year contract, and Tottenham therefore believe they have no reason to consider selling the 21-year-old.
His record of 31 goals in all competitions last season, in a breakthrough campaign at White Hart Lane, has led to inevitable speculation that clubs could come knocking for his signature.
Just a few days ago, Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy [via the Telegraph] reportedly informed Mauricio Pochettino that he does not wish to cash in on Harry Kane or Hugo Lloris – who are both rumoured targets for Louis van Gaal.
According to the British tabloid, if Levy opted to sell, he could bank as much as £70m for the duo, but the English businessman knows that selling the star pair would be a considerable backwards for the north London club. He wants Pochettino’s best players to stay put, as they look to mount a serious challenge to a place in the Premier League’s top four.
