Man City transfer news
With Manchester City reportedly ready to make some huge signings this summer in a £150m spending spree, here’s a look at how Manuel Pellegrini’s starting lineup could look in 2015/16 if they land all their main targets:
GK: Joe Hart
Continuing as number one for Manchester City, Joe Hart put in some fine performances for the club in this otherwise disappointing season and deserves to remain first choice.
DR: Pablo Zabaleta
Another top class City player who never stops trying, Pablo Zabaleta is surely going to stay as first choice at right-back next season.
DL: Aaron Cresswell
Coming in at left-back could be West Ham United defender Aaron Cresswell, who impressed in his first season in the Premier League and who would help fill that pesky homegrown players quota.
DC: John Stones
Another promising England youngster who could be brought in by City, Everton centre-back John Stones has been linked with the club and would be an ideal long-term replacement for the over-the-hill Vincent Kompany.
DC: Eliaquim Mangala
After a tough first season, Eliaquim Mangala will surely fulfill his potential next term and become first choice for Pellegrini’s side.
MC: Yaya Toure
Despite links to Inter Milan, Yaya Toure is too important to let go and will surely be running the City midfield again next season.
MC: Paul Pogba
Brought in alongside Toure could be in-demand Juventus star Paul Pogba, who has the potential to become one of the best players in the world and who is also wanted by Chelsea, Real Madrid and Barcelona.
AMR: Raheem Sterling
Possibly arriving in a £50m move, Liverpool starlet Raheem Sterling is another top young talent City are desperate to sign this summer, and he’d be a great option out wide.
AML: Kevin De Bruyne
After a storming season for Wolfsburg, former Chelsea winger Kevin De Bruyne has also been linked with a big move to City this summer, and would be a huge upgrade on Samir Nasri.
AMC: David Silva
Moving into a more central role, David Silva lining up with Sterling and De Bruyne gives City a frightening looking attacking midfield trio.
FC: Sergio Aguero
Leading the attack is star striker Sergio Aguero, who will surely be kept at the Etihad Stadium despite interest from Real Madrid.
