The Brazilian playmaker was nominated for the PFA Player of the Year award and made into the PFA Team of the Year; however, there were plenty of Premier League supporters questioning his inclusion.
While the midfielder expressed glimpses of magic last term – including a stunning strike to seal three points against Manchester City – the youngster has much to prove. Brendan Rodgers and the Anfield faithful know that they have a special talent in their ranks and, particularly with Liverpool having faced criticism over their performances last season, Coutinho must start to step up and deliver consistently if they are to return to the top four.
