13 Copa America stars linked to major summer transfers including Manchester United and Liverpool targets

1) Robinho

Manchester City’s first big signing of the Sheikh Mansour era, Brazilian striker Robinho proved an awful flop in England, becoming a liability for his team as he lazed about and showed little more than some pointless stepovers and tricks.

2) Radamel Falcao

Scoring only four goals on loan at Manchester United, Colombian front-man Radamel Falcao did not show the form expected of him in his short stay in England, though he has been linked with a surprise move to Chelsea.

3) Juan Sebastian Veron

An expensive Argentine flop at Manchester United, Juan Sebastian Veron looked awesome at Lazio but useless at Old Trafford.

4) Angel Di Maria

The next Veron? Angel Di Maria is United’s club-record signing but has performed very poorly so far in English football, looking unsettled and unconfident.

5) Nelson Vivas

Another awful Argentine, Nelson Vivas looked a very dodgy defender indeed in his short stay at Arsenal.

6) Erik Lamela

Tottenham Hotspur’s record signing, Erik Lamela has been a big disappointment at White Hart Lane, failing to look anything like the bright talent we saw at AS Roma.

7) Andre Santos

A pitiful player, overweight Brazilian left-back Andre Santos was another big mistake in the transfer market by Arsene Wenger.

8) Heurelho Gomes

One of the worst goalkeepers in the Premier League in recent times, Brazilian flop Heurelho Gomes was a big liability at Tottenham in his time with the club.

9) Diego Forlan

A Uruguayan striker who just couldn’t buy a goal at United, Diego Forlan did go on to enjoy a strong career with Villarreal and Atletico Madrid in Spain.

10) Anderson

Another bulky Brazilian flop, Anderson started brightly at United but is one of many South Americans to fail to deliver at Old Trafford.
