The international team-mates tangled with each other after Sanchez insisted on taking a first half set-piece even though Diaz, who plays for German side Hamburg, is the designated free-kick taker of the Chilean national team.
A witness to the dressing room incident claimed;
“Other teammates had to get between them so that they didn’t come to blows.
“Sanchez squared up to Diaz, shouting at him for not giving him the ball.
“[Diaz] shouted back; he told him to let everyone else play and not be so greedy. Furthermore, he chastised Alexis for missing a training session.”
The 26 year old Gunners star played down the incident when approached by the press but did concede that an argument had taken place.
Chile are in preparations for the 2015 Copa America and will hope that Alexis Sanchez can replicate the form he has shown in his debut season at Arsenal during the tournament in his home nation.
