Marouane Fellaini – Another player who drastically improved under van Gaal this season, Marouane Fellaini looks back to his best and put in some great big-game performances this year. 7.5/10.
Juan Mata – After a slow start at United, the former Chelsea man is now the creative hub of the side and put in a majestic display as the Red Devils won 2-1 at Anfield, with the Spaniard’s wondergoal sealing it. 8/10.
Angel Di Maria – Not what was expected, Angel Di Maria started well but faded badly and looked off the pace in the Premier League. Now reportedly unsettled at the club. 6.5/10.
Adnan Januzaj – Despite an amazing breakthrough last year, Adnan Januzaj failed to live up to the hype this time around, falling quickly out of favour with van Gaal and managing no goals or assists all season long. 5/10.
Wayne Rooney – Whether playing up front or behind the main striker, Wayne Rooney looked an improved player this season and seemed to relish being given the captain’s armband at the club. 8/10.
Robin van Persie – In a season disrupted by injuries, Robin van Persie still looked worryingly anonymous in some big games, managing only ten goals. 6/10.
