The Red Devils spent £150m on new players last summer, bringing in big names like Angel Di Maria to help fire the club back into the top four.
Van Gaal could now raid his Premier League rivals for these three big names to continue building his squad up for a potential title challenge…
1) Raheem Sterling (Liverpool)
According to reports, United could make a hugely controversial raid on Liverpool for the £25m signing of Raheem Sterling, who is hoping to leave Anfield after repeatedly rejecting offers of a new contract. With Angel Di Maria’s future in doubt, a new signing out wide makes sense for the club this summer.
2) Morgan Schneiderlin (Southampton)
Secondly, United could also look to beat Arsenal to the signing of Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin, who was one of the finest players in the Premier League in his position in 2014/15. The French international would cost around £25m to prise away from the Saints.
3) Hugo Lloris (Tottenham Hotspur)
Finally, in a £30m move, United want to sign Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris if David de Gea ends up leaving the club for Real Madrid in the summer, with the Spurs shot-stopper the ideal big name to fill his gloves after establishing himself as one of the finest in England in recent years.
