Liverpool ready £15m bid for England international defender
The England international will move on a free transfer on the first of next month [confirmed on the club’s website], subject to a medical, and the midfielder could prove to be one of the signings of the summer – at least that’s what Reds supporters are thinking.
The Anfield faithful are understandably downcast following a hugely underachieving campaign, and fortunately for Brendan Rodgers, plenty of the club’s fans are delighted with their first signing of the summer.
With an immense work-rate and – not forgetting – sealed on a free transfer, he could prove to be one of the steals of the summer transfer window to a club in need of an established Premier League player, with Steven Gerrard departing for the MLS.

James Milner is a decent signing, especially for free. Sick and tired of buying players with no Premier League experience — Dan. (@Lazallana) June 4, 2015

James Milner is an excellent signing. High wages, but no fee. He’s more Dirk Kuyt than Joe Cole. More Maxi than Babel. Will be a hit with us — Benny Profane (@BennyAntics) June 4, 2015
