The tweet claims the unveiling will take place shortly after an unveiling of new manager, Rafa Benitez.
The news is sure to be a bitter blow to United fans, and is further evidence that the club is no longer at the pinnacle of the European game and able to hold on to their best players.
De Gea was directly responsible for a number of Manchester United victories last season. Without him there is a serious possibility that either Spurs or Liverpool would have pipped them to the final Champions League spot.
Manchester United will now be in the market for a new keeper.
