The Magpies supposedly have their eye on former Gunners midfielder and captain Patrick Vieira, who is currently reserve team coach at Manchester City.
The Frenchman is known to be highly regarded by his peers and has been tipped to make the move into management in the near future, after doing some fine work during his time with City.
Vieira won a whole host of honours during his playing days with Arsenal and could bring some much-needed experience and know-how to this struggling Newcastle squad, which only stayed up after a win on the final day of the Premier League season, beating West Ham United 2-0 at St James’ Park.
According to Sky Sports, Vieira is one of the names in the frame and could be making the move to Newcastle this summer.
