The Manchester Evening News claims that the Etihad Stadium side will look to land Juventus midfield powerhouse Paul Pogba and Wolfsburg playmaker Kevin de Bruyne in deals that could amount to a whopping £118m.

Manuel Pellegrini’s side meekly surrendered their Premier League title to Chelsea and are to fall back to their well worn practice of digging deep to fund massive moves in the transfer market in a bid to once again reign supreme.

22 year old French international Pogba is perhaps the ideal man to replace Ivorian Yaya Toure, the Man City legend apparently set for a summer exit, though Juve will demand at least £60m for the former Man United man.

Man City are also ready to fork out £58m for former Chelsea man de Bruyne, who has been a massive hit since moving to Germany 18 months ago.

The 23 year old Belgian finished the season as the Bundesliga’s leading assist maker and also helped Wolfsburg to a DFB Pokal title and was key to the club securing a Champions League berth, and as such won’t come cheap.

Given UEFA’s FFP (Financial Fair Play) guidelines one imagines that Man City would look to offload a fair few players to help balance the books should they seek to bring in this pair of talents.
