Arsenal flop close to agreeing Galatasaray transfer
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is on the lookout for a man between the sticks after not being entirely convinced by either Wojciech Szczesny or David Ospina this season. The former made several mistakes and according to the Daily Mirror was fined for smoking in the showers before being dropped from the side for the second half of the season.
Meanwhile the latter has drawn criticism for his height, which makes it difficult to deal with crosses. One case in point is the goal they conceded against West Brom on the finals day of the season, when the Colombian came out to collect a cross but was lost in the sea of bodies and unable to get near it.
Muslera has played 37 times for Galatasaray this season, helping them to concede just 34 goals in the Super Lig. The 28-year-old has also made 66 appearances for Uruguay since his debut in 2009, taking part in two World Cups and a Copa America. At six foot three inches he also doesn’t have the same height problem as Ospina.
