Real Madrid transfer targets as club consider replacing big-name striker including Barcelona forward and Liverpool star

Even though Karim Benzema has performed admirably for Real Madrid this season, club president Florentino Perez has never been adverse to a major splash in the transfer market.

The ‘visionary’ behind the Galacticos policy brought high-profile players Gareth Bale and James Rodriguez to the Bernabeu in the last two summers, and may look to add to his magnificent roster of attacking talents this summer.

Bale was brought for €91 million in 2013, while James arrived a year later for €80 million.

Benzema has bagged 15 goals in 29 La Liga appearances for Real so far this season, adding six goals in nine Champions League appearances.

Despite this, the Merengues have fallen short; missing out on the Liga BBVA title and falling short in the Champions League, being defeated 3-2 on aggregate by Juventus.

Considering Real’s failure, Perez will be keen to make his mark this summer. Benzema may well be a casualty of Madrid’s disappointing campaign, with Le 10 Sport naming three players who could replace the striker:
Luis Suarez

Perez was keen to sign Luis Suarez last summer before his move to Catalonia, and the French source believe they may return for the Uruguayan this summer.

However, considering Barcelona’s current restriction on registering new players, is there any fee that could tempt them to part with a forward who’s bagged 16 goals in 27 Liga BBVA appearances this term?
Sergio Aguero

Another option would be Sergio Aguero, with the Express reporting that Real are prepared to part with £70 million in order to bring the Manchester City forward to the Bernabeu.

The 26-year-old has managed an impressive 26 goals in 33 appearances in the Premier League this term to win the EPL golden boot.
Raheem Sterling

Finally, Raheem Sterling is set to become one of the key protagonists of the summer transfer window, with Zinedine Zidane having confirmed [via the Daily Mail] that Real are keeping tabs on the want-away Liverpool forward.

Could contract rebel Sterling improve on Benzema’s 15 league goals if he were to join an attacking line including Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo?
