Reports in France suggest the Gunners could be lining up a double raid on the French champions, who seem ready to let some less needed members of their squad leave at the end of this season.

Having been knocked out of the Champions League by Barcelona at the quarter-final stage, PSG will no doubt want to go further in the competition next season and appear to be considering making some changes to their squad when the transfer window re-opens.

This seems to have alerted Arsenal, with Le 10 Sport claiming Wenger is particularly keen to sign France international playmaker Yohan Cabaye, who was also reported by BBC Sport to have been a £10m target for the club during his time with Newcastle United, where he became regarded as one of the finest midfielders in the Premier League.

Instead, Cabaye’s fine form saw him move to the Parc des Princes, though he has since found regular playing time harder to come by, making just 23 Ligue 1 appearances this season, and ten of those from the bench.

Arsenal could do with such a signing, however, with Wenger having to make do without injury-prone pair Mikel Arteta and Jack Wilshere for so much of this season, leading to previously untested youngster Francis Coquelin becoming a regular. While the Frenchman’s form has been good, Cabaye would still be a useful addition to add some depth in that position.

Additional claims from the Metro state that Arsenal also want to bring in Ezequiel Lavezzi from the Ligue 1 champions, with the Argentine another player struggling to make an impact in Laurent Blanc’s team this term, but one who could give the Gunners something a little different in attack.

Able to play either out wide or up front, Lavezzi could be an upgrade on players like Olivier Giroud and Danny Welbeck, who have divided critics this season, or alternatively provide a good replacement for Theo Walcott, who has been recently linked with a move to Chelsea as part of a swap deal for Petr Cech, according to The Sun.
