The Belgian international looks likely to be available for around £30m at the end of this season, having shown some superb goalscoring form for the club since returning from a long-term injury this year.
Chelsea are seemingly in the market for a new striker after injury-hit seasons from both Diego Costa and Loic Remy, with only a 37-year-old Didier Drogba available as a backup.
With the veteran Ivory Coast man possibly in his final season at Stamford Bridge, there is clear need for Jose Mourinho to add another option up top, with the Daily Mirror reporting Benteke could be that man.
This would spell bad news for rivals Liverpool, who are mentioned as the one of the main admirers of the in-form 24-year-old.
