The 23 year old left Chelsea for the Bundesliga in January 2014, having only been offered just two Premier League starts with the West London side, and the Belgian has become an instant hit in the German top tier.
De Bruyne’s 19 assists make the Wolfsburg man the leading assist maker in the Bundesliga this season by some distance and the former Blues star has also weighed in with 15 goals in all competitions and is now attracting the attention of a number of Europe’s ‘Elite’.
Wolfsburg paid £18m to land De Bruyne but will now demand as much as £50m for the playmaker, who is also said to interest Manchester City, Real Madrid, Paris St Germain and Bayern Munich.
Having not really had a fair crack of the whip at Chelsea de Bruyne may well be tempted by another chance in the Premier League and the presence of national team colleagues Marouane Fellaini and Adnan Januzaj at Old Trafford.
