The Reds are already desperately short of quality up front after poor seasons from the likes of Mario Balotelli and Rickie Lambert, who have performed badly since being signed by manager Brendan Rodgers to replace the departing Luis Suarez last summer.
Aston Villa front-man Christian Benteke looks to be one of Liverpool’s main transfer targets being considered, while Burnley forward Danny Ings is also an option for the club for next season.
According to The Times, Benteke is the most tempting option due to his experience, as he could lead a relatively youthful front-line also featuring the likes of Divock Origi, who will return to Anfield from loan with Ligue 1 side Lille.
The Belgian international has been in great form this season and would definitely make a significant impact for the Merseyside giants next year.
