The Italian has had a poor debut season with the Reds, scoring just three goals in all competitions and has found it difficult to fit in to the team’s high intensity style of play. After just one campaign at Anfield, manager Brendan Rodgers could already be trying to get rid of his summer addition.
Luckily for the Northern Irishman it seems that there are still clubs in Italy who are keen to take the 24-year-old.
Ferrero said: “Balotelli is a great name. He’d suit a lot of teams. I’d take him at Sampdoria in a heartbeat. A partnership of Eto’o and Balotelli would be fantastic.”
As well as the Sampdoria president, according to Goal.com, Inter Milan vice-president Javier Zanetti has made it clear that he is open to the idea of bringing the Italy international back to Lombardy.
Should Balotelli remain at Anfield, he will likely face competition from incoming LOSC Lille forward Divock Origi next season. The Reds are also believed to be keen on Paris Saint-Germain forward Ezequiel Lavezzi.
