Arsenal are reportedly in the driving seat to snap up classy Lyon attacking midfielder Yoann Gourcuff on a free transfer at the end of this season, it has emerged.

The French international has something of a reputation for being an underachiever, though he has also forged a decent career for himself and is known for his superb natural talent and ability.
There’s no doubt a player of Gourcuff’s style could fit in well into Arsene Wenger’s tactics, with the Gunners linked with him several times in the past.
It may now be that Arsenal will be tempted to move for him due to his contract situation, with the Metro claiming he will see out his deal with the Ligue 1 giants and move to pastures new at the end of this season.
Gourcuff’s agent has hinted that big clubs are after his client, with the 28-year-old still a player who could be in his prime and make an impact at a top club.
