The 27-year-old German forward has had a fine season in the Bundesliga this term, and has impressed scouts at White Hart Lane with 12 goals and 9 assists in all competitions so far.

There’s no doubt Tottenham could do with improvements upfront, with the likes of Emmanuel Adebayor and Roberto Soldado struggling to impress as youngster Harry Kane has got the nod upfront instead, enjoying a highly prolific season.

Still, Spurs could benefit from another player in attack, with Kruse looking like a fine all-around attacking player who could contribute good numbers in goals and assists and fit in well in Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

According to the London Evening Standard, Kruse could be available for a bargain price as well, with a £9m release clause written into his current contract with Borussia Monchengladbach.
