Newcastle United have suffered eight straight Premier League defeats and caretaker boss John Carver isn’t likely to be handed a new deal whilst West Ham manager Sam Allardyce will see his current contract expire at the end of the current campaign.
The Magpies did attempt to lure Derby County boss Steve McClaren to St James’ Park earlier this month but having failed to do so the north-east side may have to settle with Carver for the crucial final three matches of the season.
Moyes moved to take charge of La Liga side Sociedad last November and hasn’t exactly pulled up any trees at the Basque outfit, who currently sit in 11th place having finished last season in seventh.
The allure of a move back to the Premier League may well tempt the former Man United and Everton manager though a move to West Ham may prove the more tempting given the east London side will secure a top half finish and have a move to the Olympic Stadium to look forward to.
