The Italian champions already had an offer of 18 million Euros rejected for the Belgium international—according to Sky Sport Italia [via Mercato365] but will look to return to Russia with an improved over.
The midfielder is under contract until 2017, and while Zenit are not looking to sell one of their most valuable assets, they may change their tune if the price was right.
Even though Juventus are believed to be returning to Andre Villas-Boas’s side with a 25 million Euros offer, Zenit want to recuperate at least the 30 million Euros they paid for the player when he signed from Benfica in 2012.
He spent a season in Portugal after making his name in Standard Liege, where he guided the Belgian side to two league titles and a Belgian cup victory in 2011.
Juventus’s interest in the player comes in light of transfer rumours linking their current midfielder powerhouse Paul Pogba with a move away from the club.
Barcelona, Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United and Chelsea are just some of the clubs who have been linked to the France international in recent weeks.
