1) Marco Reus (Borussia Dortmund)
One of the best attacking midfielders in the world, Borussia Dortmund star Marco Reus is a player who could certainly add some quality to this Manchester City side in the wide areas, and the German international should arguably be a priority over a slightly overhyped youngster like Sterling anyway.
2) Kevin De Bruyne (Wolfsburg)
Another classy winger based in the Bundesliga, Wolfsburg star Kevin De Bruyne could also be a great option for City to consider in that part of the pitch, with the Belgian scoring high in both goals and assists this season.
3) Theo Walcott (Arsenal)
A surprise option perhaps, but if City are keen to bring in homegrown players, they could consider a move for the out-of-favour Arsenal winger Theo Walcott this summer, with the former Southampton youngster showing himself to be a lethal goalscoring midfielder throughout his career, despite some injury worries.
4) Antoine Griezmann (Atletico Madrid)
Another winger in fine form this season, Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann arguably looks a better bet in the attacking midfield department than Sterling, reaching 25 goals this year for the La Liga giants.
5) Memphis Depay (PSV)
A winger wanted by a host of top clubs at the moment, Memphis Depay is another top class wide-man who should perhaps be on City’s radar this summer as they look for players similar to Sterling.
