The NYRB are also keen on Muntari’s international teammate and former Tottenham Hotspur star Kevin-Prince Boateng, and are planning a double swoop this summer.
Despite being one of the most glamorous outfits in MLS, the Red Bulls are yet to truly replace Thierry Henry—their star man who retired ahead of the current campaign.
The club believe that Muntari and Boateng can begin to fill this void according to Gazzetta dello Sport, via Foot Mercato.
The former won the Champions League with Inter Milan and also featured in the Premier League with Portsmouth and Sunderland, while the latter—28-year-old Boateng—currently features with Schalke 04 in the Bundesliga.
Both represented the Black Stars at the 2014 World Cup.
Galatasaray are also believed to be keen in former Spurs man Boateng, while Everton are also eyeing Muntari as Roberto Martinez looks to bolster his squad this summer.
