Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has put his personal feelings to one side and has heaped praise on Chelsea captain John Terry for his fantastic performances this season.

The former England teammates fell out over the racism controversy surrounding Rio’s brother Anton and the Blues captain back in October 2011 but the former admits it is difficult to ignore just how well the latter has played this campaign.
“It’s no secret that me and John Terry are not the closest of mates. But just because we no longer get on does not mean I’ve lost my admiration for him as a footballer.” The Queens Park Rangers veteran said in his column in The Sun.
“His performances for Chelsea this season have been nothing short of outstanding and I’m not afraid to say it.” he continued.
Terry was on the scoresheet in the 3-1 victory against Leicester City in midweek to put his side within touching distance of clinching their first Premier League title since 2010 and they will be crowned champions of England with victory over Crystal Palace in the London derby at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon.
The 35-year-old was named in the PFA Team of the Year last week and his performance in the goalless draw at the Emirates against Arsenal was hailed by his club manager Jose Mourinho as “amazing“.
