Manchester United appear to have been given a massive boost in their pursuit of a deal to sign Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris after it emerged that there is a clause in his contract that allows him to join a Champions League club for only £14m should Spurs miss out on it themselves, the Metro reports.

The French international has been a vital player in Tottenham’s system, and has even been one of the more consistent stars in the squad since arriving from Lyon back in 2012.
However, it is believed that the 28-year-old is keen to move on this summer as he is desperate to play again in Europe’s premier club competition.
His current deal has him tied to the White Heart Lane club until 2019, though, there may be an anomaly that was discovered this week by French journalist Julien Laurens.
It is believed that he can depart the Londoners for just £14m if a club able to offer Champions League football come calling, and with the future of David de Gea still uncertain, the impetus will be with Manchester United to make the move should they manage to qualify.
