Roberto Martinez is keen to bolster his squad this summer following the Toffees’ disappointing campaign.
The Merseyside club are particularly keen for reinforcements in defence, where Sylvain Distin is now 37 and Alvaro Alcaraz has struggled to demonstrate the quality required to help the club back to the upper echelons of the Premier League.
According to the Sun [via Football365], the Blues have identified Senegal international and current Genk star Modou ‘Kara’ Mbodji as a potential problem-solver at the back.
The powerful, physical six footer would be a versatile option for the School of Science, as while he is primarily a centre-back, he can also do a very useful job as a defensive midfielder or even slightly further up the pitch.

He is a regular in the Senegalese national side and recently featured at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.
