Falcao has struggled at Old Trafford this season, he has delivered a series of anonymous performances and, heading into Sunday’s match with Everton, had managed only four goals in 22 appearances under Louis van Gaal.
The Colombian striker arrived in the North West on loan from AS Monaco, but his indifferent showings for the Red Devils make it unlikely that he will be retained by the club.
According to the Express, Falcao only moved to the club as a consequence of United missing out on Uruguay forward.
Cavani was previously unhappy at Paris Saint-Germain, according to reports in Spain, but a £32 million offer from United was rejected by the club as they sought to hold on to one of their most valuable assets.
United may well return to the Parc des Princes this summer as they attempt to revive a deal for the former Palermo man, but they may face competition from Atletico Madrid, who are also interested in the hitman.
