The hamstring injury sustained by Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure in the 3-2 win over Aston Villa could signal the end of his career at the club.

With the severity of the problem yet to be determined, and the player himself having hinted that he could be ready for a new challenge, supporters may have laid eyes on him in their team colours for the final time.
The Manchester Evening News reports that the Premier League champions will assess his injury next week, but he already seems doubtful to figure in next weekend’s trip to Tottenham Hotspur. He picked up the muscle ailment during the first half of today’s game, and was replaced by Fernandinho at the break.
Should he sit out the visit to north London, there will only be three fixtures left in which he could figure, prior to a potential summer exit from the Etihad Stadium.
Toure joined the club in 2010 and has since won two Premier League titles, an FA Cup and one League Cup under two managers, Roberto Mancini and Manuel Pellegrini.
While this season has arguably been his least effective, he is still likely to be afforded plenty of affection by the City faithful even if he does depart this summer, after playing an integral role in their team’s rise to prominence.
