1) Michael Carrick
Michael Carrick’s future could certainly come into some doubt if Louis van Gaal brings Gundogan to Man Utd in the summer, with the veteran England international struggling with injuries in recent times and perhaps seeing his influence on the side wane in recent times.
2) Ander Herrera
Signed from Athletic Bilbao last summer, Ander Herrera has impressed this season for United, though he has not always been a regular starter for van Gaal’s side and may struggle even further to play regularly if Gundogan arrives at Old Trafford.
3) Daley Blind
Another impressive defensive midfielder, Daley Blind can also fill in as a left-back, so may not have too much to worry about with Gundogan’s arrival, even if his best role has perhaps been in front of the back four.
4) Marouane Fellaini
Perhaps a more attack-minded player than Gundogan, Marouane Fellaini shouldn’t be too worried about the possible arrival of his new team-mate, though it certainly makes it look a little crowded in the centre with so much quality to choose from.
