Southampton striker Jay Rodriguez will cost Manchester City in excess of £20m if he is to depart St Mary’s in the summer according to reports in the Mirror Online.

City have been widely tipped to invest heavily in their squad when the summer transfer window opens and the Saints striker is thought to be top of that list although it remains to be seen whether manager Manuel Pellegrini would be willing to spend such a big fee on a player who has been sidelined for well over year.
The 25-year-old was ironically injured against City at the Etihad Stadium towards the end of last season and he is yet to make a long-awaited return but it is understood that Ronald Koeman is desperate to keep hold of the player.
Other targets for City reportedly include Merseyside duo Raheem Sterling and Ross Barkley as they aim to add homegrown talent to the ranks following a disappointing campaign which will see them finish the season empty handed.
