Old Trafford boss Louis van Gaal will apparently pass on the possibility of signing loaned in forward Radamel Falcao on a permanent basis whilst Robin van Persie will also be made available after an indifferent campaign from the experienced Dutchman.
This would leave space for the addition of 27 year old Argentine Higuain though talkSPORT insist that Serie A side Napoli are not planning on losing the former Real Madrid man.
Higuain is a striker with a proven pedigree having notched up 107 goals in 190 La Liga appearances at the Bernabeu and has proven a success since moving to Naples, the feared finisher bagging 24 goals in each of his first two campaigns at the San Paolo.
The allure of a move to Man United may prove very tempting especially if Rafa Benitez fails to secure a Champions League berth for Napoli for next term.
