GK) Thibaut Courtois – 6/10
Dealt with everything that came his way with his usual calm demeanour.
RB) Branislav Ivanovic 7/10
Recovered well from a nasty blow to the head in the first period to deliver a composed display.
CB) John Terry 7/10
Shackled Falcao well and would have been in for a tougher evening had Rooney started up front.
CB) Gary Cahill 7/10
On his way back to his best form and was an aerial threat at both ends of the pitch.
LB) Cesar Azpilicueta 7/10
Coped well in the face of some relentless Red Devils pressure.
DM) Kurt Zouma 6/10
Looked like what he was – a central defender playing in midfield. Defended well, but the passing was hit and miss.
DM) Nemanja Matic 8/10
The big man had to be at the races as United dominated possession and he held his own.
AM) Oscar 7/10 (Ramires – ’67)
The enigmatic Brazilian produced a wonderful flick for Hazard’s goal but flitted in and out of the contest.
AM) Cesc Fabregas 8/10 (Mikel – ’92)
This wasn’t the kind of game Fabregas relishes but he more than put in his shift while still looking dangerous.
AM) Eden Hazard 8/10 (Willian – ’94)
The talisman took his goal brilliantly and, as usual, carried Chelsea’s biggest threat
CF) Didier Drogba 5/10
Father time has caught up with the Ivorian. He did his best to hold up the ball but looked off the pace.
Subs:
Ramires 7/10 – Slotted in well and marshalled the midfield when it needed a cool head.
Mikel – Too late to mark
Willian – Too late to mark
