Chelsea rumours
1) David Luiz
Signed for a ridiculous £50m by PSG last summer, David Luiz was not even a regular at Chelsea and must go down as one of the best-ever sales by the Blues as he continues to look poor for the Ligue 1 giants.
2) Fernando Torres
Another former Chelsea man, Fernando Torres was a huge waste of money for the London giants as they paid £50m to sign him from Liverpool, though he never hit top form at Stamford Bridge.
3) Andy Carroll
Signed to replace Torres at Anfield, Andy Carroll was an extremely poor buy for £35m as he managed only six Premier League goals in 44 appearances for the Reds.
4) Juan Sebastian Veron
A big name when he arrived at United, Juan Sebastian Veron never lived up to his price tag in his two seasons for the club, and remains one of the most surprising flops in the Premier League era.
5) Angel Di Maria
The modern day Veron? Angel Di Maria has not looked a £60m player since joining United from Real Madrid last summer in a club-record transfer.
6) Luke Shaw
Another expensive risk by United last summer, Luke Shaw has not yet hit top form for the Red Devils and looks rather average as a left-back, both defensively and in attack.
7) Erik Lamela
A £30m signing from AS Roma, Erik Lamela has barely done anything for Tottenham Hotspur despite being their club-record signing.
8) Eliaquim Mangala
A £32m signing, Eliaquim Mangala has been desperately poor for City in his first season in English football, looking unconfident and weak at the back.
9) Andriy Shevchenko
Another surprise flop at Chelsea, Andriy Shevchenko never reproduced his world class AC Milan form in a Blue shirt, struggling to live up to expectations following a big-money move.
10) Stewart Downing
A terribly poor £20m signing from Liverpool, Stewart Downing failed to register a single goal or assist in his first season on Merseyside.
