Guarani took the lead in the 14th minute through Federico Santander, but a goal from Sergio Blanco in the 59th minute set up a nail biting final half an hour.
In the other game in Group 8, Argentine giants Racing Club came back from 2-0 down to win 3-2 at home to Venezuelan minnows Deportivo Tachira. A Jose Meza brace had given the visitors a surprise lead, but Diego Milito and Gustavo Bou pulled the hosts level before a 92nd minute Brian Fernández goal gave them all three points.
Group 8 in the first group in the 2015 Copa Libertadores to be completed.
